When does the Anglican Church lose its identity?

Posted November 11, 2018 09:03:56 Anglican church leaders have said they believe the Anglicans have “lost” their identity as a church in Australia, after the Australian Federal Government announced the end of the organisation as a political party.
“It’s just a shame.
It’s a shame that we’re just going to be known as the Anglicanism in this country,” Anglican Bishop David Loyd said.
“We’re going to lose the church’s identity.”
Mr Loyd was speaking at the start of the church meeting in Adelaide.
The Anglican Communion is a separate political organisation.
It is the largest Christian denomination in Australia.
The Australian Electoral Commission says there are currently 3,400 Anglicans in the country.
In 2016, the Australian Catholic Church won a seat in Parliament, with the support of the Labor Party. AAP/ABC
