NFL: Earl Thomas is ‘in the middle of the biggest contract negotiations in sports history’
With the signing of Peyton Manning to a five-year, $126 million deal this week, the Seattle Seahawks now have an all-time NFL record-holder in salary cap money.
That record-setting amount comes after the Seattle Super Bowl champion Seahawks signed star wide receiver Percy Harvin to a six-year $82 million contract extension.
With the extension, Thomas will be the highest-paid player in the NFL history at $126.3 million.
Thomas is currently the all-timeline leader for all-purpose yards, yards from scrimmage and touchdowns.
Thomas ranks second all-Time in yards from the spot in the playoffs, behind only Calvin Johnson with 1,957.
Thomas will become the first wide receiver to lead the NFL in both yards and yards per game in the same season since Wes Welker did so in 2002.
Thomas also ranks second in receiving yards in the Super Bowl and tied for the most all-around touchdowns in NFL history.
