GetAssociationByBaseId returns null when the workflow association is disabled

This in my opinion is a bug but feel free to disagree.

SharePoint 2010 SP1 Recycle Bin Oddity

A little gotcha here that is is good to be aware of.

As we all know, SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 1 added the long awaited functionality that enables self-service recovery of sites. Superb! So if a site owner ‘accidentally’ deletes a SharePoint site, a site collection administrator can now recover it from the ‘Deleted from end user Recycle Bin‘ view of the site collection Recycle Bin. SharePoint Calculated Columns – Server and Client-Side Difference

I have just completed a task to improve performance of a Silverlight web part that queried a list and returned a large amount of fairly static data. To improve performance the client-side code that performed the query using the Silverlight client object model was extracted, converted to the full server API and placed in a custom WCF service hosted within SharePoint. Managing profile photos in SharePoint 2010

I have been doing some work in this area recently and came across a must read post on the Microsoft SharePoint Social Computing Team Blog regarding Photo Management in SharePoint 2010.

My interest was following an upgrade from 2007 to 2010 – in this case the profile pictures were not stored as three different size thumbnails and hence we were getting strange effects in certain areas. Continue reading
